I wanted to take a moment to thank you for what you've written (you're right, he'd be beside himself, which makes it all the more fitting). My brothers and I and Nick's surviving brother are facing an indescribable loss, but your blog reminds me in the best way possible how very far reaching his life has been.

Thank you...Larahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11396351487580203141noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9033951886762774121.post-35501054399167879632011-01-12T21:34:29.634-08:002011-01-12T21:34:29.634-08:00Thank you for writing such kind words about Nick. ...Thank you for writing such kind words about Nick. This yea...I am so very sorry to hear of your loss. This year has been a year of loss for us, too; friends and family members gone so quickly, we don't have a chance to say a real goodbye.
I just finished The Admiral's Penniless Bride. Read and enjoyed it in one day. Darn! You probably took months to write it and I devour it in one sitting. I guess you are just too good a writer.
Is it something new that authors these days write in shorter sentences and shorter paragraphs? I used to love books with the paragraph-length sentence, nice and wordy and requiring concentration to follow the sense of it. But then, I am old now and probably constitutionally unable to appreciate the necessary changes that society has made. For example, I deplore the abbreviations that texting require (after all, I did teach English), but at some level, I can understand the necessity of it.
Thank you, again, Carla, for your good work which I continue to read and re-read.
DianeAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15183585962414443610noreply@blogger.com
